Junk Culture – Hang Roxy (feat. Jana Hunter) (mp3)

What’s that sound?  It’s the sound of me quickly rolling down my car window and twisting the volume knob on the stereo as far as it will go to the right.  Another Junk Culture creation and it has me blasting factory installed speakers into oblivion.  I’ve been quite a fan of his for a while now, but throw in a full song duet with Jana Hunter (of Lower Dens fame) and you’ve got a full on electronic summer jam in “Hang Roxy”.  This is one side of the new digital 7″ out now on Illegal Art.  The other side has me almost as giddy – Deepak gets the vocals of Phantogram’s Sarah Barthel to front the sweet “Chippewa Kids”.  Both of these songs show Junk Culture taking his sound to a more refined yet still energetic level.  Take a listen to both:
