The Unbearables
8 Oct

Again, the glockenspiel must have some magical influence over whether I enjoy a band or not. The massive nine piece Austin band, The Unbearables, handily brandish the “glock” on their tunes along with a truck load of other sounds. This monstrous concoction of instruments, joyful singing kicks the moon in the butt and brings that dazzling sun high into the sky. Look! There’s a bluebird on my shoulder. Yea! Seeya later dark gloomy workday! Hello radiant sun non-workday! The Unbearables (which they certainly are not – music wise – they could be really annoying people – but I don’t know them – but their music is good is what I’m saying) shuffle from Sufjan to The Kinks to Polyphonic Spree to classical scores as if they were skipping stones lakeside. Inspiring is the word. They have an EP out now called Autonomy vs. Shame and will have two more out next year.
