Some nights I long for that dank club with the lights turned low. You know the one. No neon. No flat screens. No elbow room. Just neighbors. Just a spot. What music would there be? Well right now I’d love for it to be Lissy Trullie. This New Yorker is generating a bit of buzz, but playing it cool. Part Chrissie Hynde part Velvet Underground part fantastic. Trullie unleashes the kind of rock that’s not hard to fall in love with. Add a smokin’ cover of Hot Chip’s “Ready For The Floor” and her debut EP Self Taught Learner busts the thermometer of awesomeness (and those don’t come cheap dammit!).
