Suggested Listening: Illinoize – Sufjan Stevens Remix Tape

About a month ago Montreal producer Tor sent me an email with his new remix tape entitled Illinoize, a mash-up of everybody’s favorite singer/songwriters, Sufjan Stevens, and some classic hip hop rappers.  Since then I’ve come to appreciate how well of a job Tor did with this project.  The raps and Sufjan blend together seamlessly.   The whole thing is free to download and features Aesop Rock, Big Daddy Kane, Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), C.L. Smooth, Outkast, Brother Ali, and Grand Puba.  Here’s a sample:
