Suggested Listening: Four Tet – There Is Love In You

There’s just something about Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet. His instrumental musical style is minimal and surely sounds like something I wouldn’t like…but I do. Just like on past albums (Rounds is a fave of mine) his new LP There Is Love In You is a grouping of minimal electronic songs that loop and build and pulse and live. It’s like meditating at the edge of a stream. The sounds and motion of the water seem repetitive, by they entrance me…bring me in…to see and hear the finer more delicate details really occurring. It’s quite beautiful really. This makes the place one chooses to listen to a Four Tet album that much more important. Find a quiet place…a snowed in house perhaps…and open the day with Four Tet’s There Is Love In You.
