Southampton’s Die Jungen or “The Young” or another rad project from Klaus Von Barrel aka The KVB. For those familiar with The KVB music, you’ll know there’s a strong and spectacular low-fi new wave dark electronic vibe smoking all over the place around it. With Die Jungen, you’d expect a similar sound, right? Not really. There’s elements of the smoke residue hinted at with Die Jungen, but take the sound west and also take it back another decade or two and there you have it. Sparse eerie sounds that could pop up in old b-movie westerns or perhaps a very strange night on American Bandstand – all backed by the soft vocals of Klaus. Its unlike anything I’ve heard before…and I dig.
