Suggested Listening: Bear In Heaven

Georgia/’Bama band Bear In Heaven and their new album Beast Rest Fourth Mouth has slowly spilled into the music adoring side of my mind. Atmospheric experimental thing-a-ma-jig music right? Off the cuff pop right? Slightly askew grooves right? Those words all describe Bear In Heaven well, but they also don’t capture it at all… Hmmm…it’s like watching a waterfall of computers spill into an ocean of boiling sunshine. The solar mist consumes the ground of silicon grass…melting…then shattering into diamond shards. I guess what I’m sayin’ is that this band headed by Jon Philpot play progressive organic chaos tamed into smooth and enticing ballads. And it’s good. Yup.

caught these guys over at the talking head a couple months back…pretty great live, however, on this album, ‘you do you’ was the only track that i felt warranted multiple, repeated listens

You Do You is an awesome track, but I was a big fan of the whole thing. Though I did explore their back catalog a bit more and didn’t get into as much.

well you encouraged me to give BRFM another listen…I guess there are a few other really solid tracks on there.
