Oh how I’ve missed Field Music. On hiatus since 2007, the Brewis brothers are back with a new album in Field Music (Measure). Not that the time off was put to ill use – David put out an album under School Of Language (that I loved big time) while Peter took on his on project with The Week That Was (which I also loved big time). Now they’ve returned and come together (like Voltron) to produce an album, Field Music (Measure), that has my straight up geeked out when I listen to it. It’s math rock/prog rock at it’s finest. Precise guitar, bass, and drums hammering out complex arrangements with off kilter time signatures. The album makes the music nerd in me simply smile and nod along. Check out the title track:
