If you’ve been following this blog over the last few months it’s probably no surprise that Beat Culture‘s Tokyo Dreamer is a favorite of mine. It dropped today…for free on his bandcamp, but it’s worth way more than the skimpy price tag. As I sipped on this subtle waterside hip-hop dream throughout today, I tried to come up with something to express my love what he’s done. Couldn’t do it. Too friggin’ good? Yes. I also can’t quite figure out what he’s done to make me love this so much. It’s chill electronic hip-hop flavored beats. Nothing that hasn’t been done before. But Sunik Kim wears his emotions on his sleeve. He lets his fingerprints surface. He coats the thing in personality that it’s hard for me not to sway into the Beat Culture current. Get it.
