Tonight there’s a quiet hum throughout the city because there are minimal happenings throughout the region. Down in DC Coliseum, Caverns, and Helsinki play the Black Cat while up in Philly, the Young Coyotes, The Quelle Source, and Gay Blades play the Khyber. Enjoy!

Tonight down in the district Sondre Lerche and Sylvie Lewis play the 9:30 Club while Young Coyotes and Gay Blades serve it up over at DC9. Across the way in Arlington, Iota has The City Veins and Anchorage. Finally up north in Philly Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson and the Castanets play Johnny Brenda’s.

Sometimes the internet is a beautiful thing. Take Young Coyotes for instance. Without Al Gore’s internet, they would be playing their brand of catchy indie rock (Pinback meets Arcade Fire without all the bells and whistles) and I would be listening to the sound of my hard drive humming the day away. Well thank god Al Gore did invent the internet and young Coyotes myspace page happened upon my brower. I don’t know too much about them besides that their music is pretty swell….oh and they’re from Denver. Here’s what they have to say for themselves:
“We are a band comprised of the death of a few other bands. We like campfires, chanting, oceans, deserts, spontaneity, and lots and lots of drums.”
Hey! Me too! Check ‘em out. photo by allister ann.
