The Run Down – Saturday November 15, 2008

If you’ve planned ahead, then you might be attending the free show/recording session Middle Distance Runner is putting on for WTMD at the 8×10 this afternoon.  Should be pretty awesome to hear some new songs and acoustical versions.  Tonight in Baltimore there are some other notable shows though starting with Necking, Teeth Mountain, Whales and Cops, Hume, and Twins at the Hexagon.  Over at the Sidebar, Me You Us Them perform with Appomattox and T-Shirt T-Shirt.  Down in DC don’t miss out on The Dance Party, Ra Ra Rasputin, Greenland, and The Nunchucks at the Rock and Roll Hotel.  Up in Philly again there’s a load of great shows.  First up is The Subjects and Hank IV at Pilam.  Next M83 and School Of Seven Bells play the Starlight Ballroom.  Finally Peter and the Wolf and Juliette Commagere play the Fire while Kings of Leon, We Are Scientists, and The Whigs conquer the Electric Factory.

Tonight in Baltimore Sonar has We Are Scientists and Liam and Me while the Ottobar has Colour Revolt and Sonic Bloom.  Down in DC Mates Of State perform at the Black Cat with Brother Reade while the Toadies and People In Planes play the 9:30 Club.  Also the Smashing Pumpkins play the first of two nights at Constitution Hall.  Up in Philly the First Unitarian Church has a sweet one with No Age, Titus Andronicus, Soft Circle, and Red Racket.

Tonight in Baltimore don’t miss a recently announced show of Health, Video Hippos, Ed Schrader, and Smart Growth at Sonar.  Down in DC Frida Hyvonen and the Jackfields play the Red and the Black while Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band take on the 9:30 Club.  Also in DC are Kings Of Leon who play Constitution Hall with We Are Scientists and The Whigs, and the Black Cat has Exit Clov, Cloud Cult, and Mason Proper.  Finally up in Philly Stellastar* performs at Johnny Brenda’s.
