I’M BACK! From a pretty sweet vacation I might add. Been off the grid for about a week or so and it looks like I’ve come back to a ton of new music. The first I’d like to touch on is a remix that Treasure Fingers did of Miami Horror’s new track “Don’t Be On With Her” from the Bravado EP (thanks for the heads up The Culture Of Me). Everything Treasure Fingers touches turns to gold and likewise everything Miami Horror puts out is gold – so that’s doubly golden in my book! And the result is just that:

and another classic…
mp3: Chromeo – 100% (Treasure Fingers Remix)

For some reason everything Brooklyn/Hotlanta DJ Treasure Fingers touches turns to gold (get it?). Seriously. Everything he does – I enjoy to the utmost. This continues with his new remix of N.A.S.A.’s “Gifted”. I’m not a crazy big fan of N.A.S.A. but this thing is dope!
mp3: N.A.S.A. – Gifted (Treasure Fingers Remix)
And here’s one I dug out from a little while back:
mp3: Big Gipp – Hot (Treasure Fingers Remix)

Tonight in Baltimore there are some super sweet shows that deserve to be seen, heard, and enjoyed. Sonar has a Taxlo event with the fantabulous Treasure Fingers, Cullen Stalin, Simon Phoenix, Blaqstarr and Juiceboxxx. If that isn’t up your alley perhaps the Wind Up Space has what you’re looking for with Celebration, Lone Wolf, and Ami Dang. If you want to go the ‘popular’ route then look no further than Rams Head Live and Fountains Of Wayne. Down in DC the Velvet Lounge has some Baltimore bands performing tonight. Don’t miss Screen Vinyl Image, Payola Reserve, SikSik Nation, and Nerd Parade. Should be decent. Philly’s no slouch tonight either. La Strada and Deleted Scenes play the Fire while Kaiser Cartel, Igor’s Egg, and Grammar Debate play the Tin Angel. Over at the Khyber the North Lawrence Midnight Singers take the stage along with The Rosewood Thieves and The MLM’s. Also up north are the Sounds Of Kaleidescope who play Johnny Brenda’s along with Asteroid #4 and Like A Fox. Finally Don’t miss out on M. Ward and Vivian Girls at the Trocadero.

So this week was crappy. Cold. Ice. Tough sledding in DC (I still have faith Obama will get it together). Tough sledding in Tampa (not a Steelers fan – though I do admit they were pretty good). Work was a big headache on most of the days. If it wasn’t for my lovely family and the new episode of Lost…I would be downright miserable right now. Luckily it’s the start of the weekend now. The weather is going to warm up and the sun is going to come out and shine it’s shine down on my shiney forehead and…I’ll smile…and forget about all that crap…and…drum up some optimism for the following week. Maybe these will help you bring a little sunshine in:
mp3: Lykke Li – Breaking It Up (Pocketknife’s Loosefoot Remix)
mp3: Fever Ray – If I Had A Heart (Familjen Remix)
mp3: Empire Of The Sun – Walking On A Dream (Treasure Fingers Remix)

Don’t you love when the work week ends on a mellow note? Most of the time it ends in a scramble to GET THINGS ACCOMPLISHED, but this week has taken a brighter end with smiles and relaxation in the work place. Right now this job doesn’t seem so bad when this kind of atmosphere is filling the room. Time to blast some tunes to continue this mood (because there’s always another week looming after the weekend).
mp3: Peter Bjorn and John – Lay It Down (The Golden Filter Remix)
mp3: Little Boots – Meddle (Treasure Fingers Remix)
mp3: Hot Chip – Colours (Fred Falke Remix)

The chill in the air is back. Just when I was demanding for winter to be here because I was tired of sweating and all that, the wind has picked up and the cold is finally settling in. Brrrrr. When’s summer going to get here? Hopefully these warm you up.
