These United States Announce New Final Tour for ‘09

This really isn’t a shocker and I really shouldn’t have written this post at all.  These United States practically tour nonstop the entire year.  I wouldn’t be surprised to be writing towards the end of December that they’ve announce a slew of January and February dates.  The good news is that they’re friggin fantastic.  Definitely mark down the date they’re in your area and bask in their warm glowing music on a cold night.

These United States – “Crimes”

It’s seems like it has taken me ages to write a review of These United States’ Crimes, but it is what it is and I’m doing it now, aren’t I?  I first want to mention the wonder of These United States.  In one year they’ve toured a RIDICULOUS amount (remember the 30 day jaunt), released TWO albums (only nine weeks apart), and have now apparently engaged in a serious battle with another local DC band Jukebox The Ghost.  It makes me tired thinking about it.  Luckily I have their new album Crimes to caffeinate me.  While their debut, A Picture of the Three of Us at the Gate to the Garden of Eden, was an amazing magical trek through the soul, Crimes (which is much nicer to write out) takes a turn through the tumbleweeds, between the saloon doors, sits down upon a sweaty stool, orders a pint of ale, clanks glasses with it’s neighboring pardner, and sings the night away.  Jesse Elliott’s friendly warble slaps you on the back while the rest of the band beckons you to snap along to the beat.  It’s an old time party and we’re all invited.  Oh and guess what?  They’re touring again (check the dates after the jump).
