Remix: SexWax takes on The Presets’ Kicking and Screaming

sexwax
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it – that’s a good formula to follow, right?  SexWax takes this to heart when tackling The Presets‘ hot, banging, and extremely mega-GREAT “Kicking and Screaming”.  SexWax keeps the same intensity level while smoothly incorporating some sweet additions like timely/wicked bends/rewinds and a thorough break down at the end.

New The Presets Video: Kicking And Screaming

Call me stoopid….but I missed the boat on The Presets when they started buzzing.   Luckily I was smart enough to pick up Apocalypso a ways back (followed by some earlier albums) and I’ve been rocking it ever since.  They’ve just released a new video for the track “Kicking and Screaming”.  This vid has guaranteed that I will be at their next concert when they roll into town.

Suggested Listening: CFCF

I’m sure many are already familiar with CFCF’s amazing remixes of Crystal Castles, The Presets, Sally Shapiro, and more, but don’t sleep on his recently released EP Panesian Nights.  It’s bursting at the seams with electronic goodness.  The fuzzed bass lines and mid ranged melody hooks of “Crystal Mines” and the stuttering bass drum and friendly bloops and bleeps of “Color Dreams” have dominated my ears as of late.  The rest of the EP shines as well.   Perfect for subway tunnels, busy highways, and early morning (before the sun comes up) parties.  Panesian Nights is out on Paper Bag Records right now so be sure to pick it up.

CFCF also hosts a weekly radio shows on the internet radio station Viva Radio called Do You Want New Wave Or Do You Want the Truth so be sure to tune in.

Friday (I’m A Remix) – MSTRKRFT/Bon Iver/Simian Mobile Disco/Boys Noize

This week has been an interesting one hasn’t it?  You’ve got the chimp attacking people then getting shot then inspiring a controversial comic strip for the New York Post criticizing Obama and the stimulus plan.  The Oceanic 6 are now back on the island…finally…and finally there’s an episode that had only one flash of light in it…they were getting a little excessive with that.  Tonight is also the last night for Conan O’Brien in the Big Apple.  I’m hoping it all works out for him on the west coast.  If you’re a sports fan the Orioles spring training is now in full swing… umm… whoopee?   Hard to get excited about that when we haven’t had a winning season since Quantum Leap was all the rage… but if you focus on the O’s perhaps it will take your mind off of the beating the Maryland Men’s Basketball team just took at Clemson…yikes.  I digress.  Here’s to hoping the weekend brings some cheer to all you folks.  Since I can’t serve alcohol on this blog here’s some remixes on the rocks.
