New The Octopus Project Video – Wet Gold

the octopus project

The most accessible (for me) track from The Octopus Project’s new Golden Beds EP, “Wet Gold”, has received the visual treatment.  Stereogum premiered their new video for the stellar track and it’s pretty phenomenal.  Really…words can’t describe…

New The Octopus Project – Golden Beds EP

the octopus project

The Octopus Project are back with their Golden Beds EP (enhanced with glorious videos and such), the follow up to one of my favorites from 2007 Hello, AvalancheGolden Beds is out today via Peek-A-Boo Records,  The opening track, “Wet Gold” picks up right where Hello, Avalanche left off – a wide variety of synths, samples, and vocals sewn together in a wave of beauty.

New Music: The Octopus Project covers the Bee Gees “I.O.I.O.”

It’s great when you get to hear a band step outside of it’s normal sound for a bit of fun.  This past holiday Austin’s The Octopus Project offered up a little treat for all their fans, a cover of the Bee Gees “I.O.I.O” compete with vocals and all.  Known for their energetic instrumentals, it’s nice to hear them pull off this psych rock version of the Bee Gees classic.

Video – The Octopus Project “I Saw The Bright Shinies”

Last year’s Hello, Avalanche by The Octopus Project was one of my favorites.  Just in time to get you motivated for a series of local performances, TOP has released a video for “I Saw The Bright Shinies” which is animated by Austin illustrator Divya Srinivasan and is pretty beautiful in it’s own right.  Take a moment from your hectic day and enjoy this.
