It’s Monday…and I’m sick…fever burning me up…but before I go pass out I thought I’d pass on some insight on a few shows in the area. Down in DC there’s a show I’d love to be at if I didn’t feel so crappy. The Black Cat has The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and they’re fabulous. The Depreciation Guild and Sugarplums open for them. Up in Philly Johnny Brenda’s has a night of amazing pop wonders with The Morning Benders and The Submarines. Also in Philly are Japanther, Totally Michael, and Ninjasonik over at Kungfu Necktie. I told you that the beginning of the week was light on good events, but now begins the craziness. In DC there is White Rabbits at the Black Cat and These New Puritans at DC9. In Philly, the Kooks and The Morning Benders play the Fillmore while Rilo Kiley, Benji Hughes and Thao With The Get Down Stay Down are up at the Electric Factory. Or if you want a bigger show, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers are playing the Wachovia Center in PA. Or if you want the ultimate dynamite show then head over to the 33rd St. Armory in Philly to check M.I.A. and Holy Fuck.
