Wow there’s some sweet shows in DC tonight! First up the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue has Yeasayer and Chairlift. That’s pretty good right? Well maybe Dr. Dog at the 9:30 Club would be swell as well. If you aren’t in the District maybe head north to Philly to catch the renaissance with Q-Tip and The Cool Kids at the Trocadero.

Tonight down in DC Sebastien Grainger and the Mountains rolls into town at DC9 with Josh Reichman and We Were Pirates. Also in DC is Q-Tip at the 9:30 Club with The Cool Kids and Pacific Division. Up north in Philly don’t miss out on the beautifully wild sounds of El Guincho at the Barbary with Lemonade and Magnet City Kids. Also up there at the North Star Bar are Long Walk Home, Phantasm, and Currents.

This week has been rather ho-hum which has been great. Nothing phenomenal happened, but nothing horrible either. The weekend seems wide open (except for the much anticipated MDR set at the 8×10 on Saturday afternoon – don’t miss it – it’s FREE!). Time to organize and be creative for a bit….it’s been a while. In Philly tonight The Breeders and The Mountain Boys play the Fillmore, while The Young Knives, Everest, and Greyhounds play Johnny Brenda’s. Also in Philly is De Novo Dahl at the north Star Bar with Whales And Cops, Caroline Liars, and The Marts. If you dare to brave Nissan Pavillion in Virginia, then why not check out the legendary Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
