We get our first peek at the new fuller sound of Spencer Krug’s Sunset Rubdown with the first track released off of the upcoming Dragonslayer (6/23 Jagjaguwar) entitled “Idiot Heart”. I happen to be a lover of all things Krug – seems like whatever he produces is gold and that stays true with this highly energized track. It’s nice to hear such volume coming from a Sunset Rubdown song – now I’m REALLY excited about this album.

On June 23rd Spencer Krug and his band Sunset Rubdown will release their third full length entitled Dragonslayer via Jagjaguwar. This band has steadily been building in sound over the past few years and what was once a small project of Krug has now turned into a 5 piece band with this new album. With a spectacular debut album, Shut Up I Am Dreaming, and a solid follow up, Random Spirit Lover, Dragonslayer is most likely going to be a winner as well. Can’t wait! Check the track listing after the jump, but for now take a listen to one of my favorite SR songs off of Random Spirit Lover:
