Sorry for the overload on PBJ lately but…um…I like them. That being said I shouldn’t be surprised that The Knocks remake of Peter Bjorn and John’s “It Don’t Move Me” is a solid dance floor version that gets me moving the right direction. It doesn’t “move me” (har har word play) like the Weird Tapes version and it’s not quite as kick ass as their recent remix of Wale, but it’s pretty dang good in my tired droopy eyes. Check it:

Peter Bjorn and John are pretty swell, if you haven’t figured that out already. To show more of their swellness they went out and did a bang up remix of the popular Miike Snow song “Animal”. Basically Peter Bjorn and John turned the track into one of their own by lifting the drums and replacing them with their own patented echoey rhythms that bounce just like you expect them to.

I’ve been having a Weird Tapes, Memory Cassette, Memory Tapes kind of week. So when this Weird Tapes rework of Peter Bjorn and John’s “It Don’t Move Me” hit my desktop – I was EXCITED! As with seemingly all Weird Tapes remixes the end product is in another realm compared to the original. Their version of “It Don’t Move Me” is a bouncy electro bass wonder with very little of the original track remaining. Beautiful Weird Tapes!

Okay NYC’s The Knocks have officially grabbed my attention. They rocked a disco drum kick in the face style remix of Passion Pit’s “Sleepyhead” to get on my radar. Now they’ve just released another stomping funk jam of one of my favorite PB&J tracks “It Don’t Move Me”. Take an ear to it:

Quietly Peter Bjorn and John’s Living Thing is slowly making it’s way back into my steady rotation of albums. It’s pretty darn good. They’ve just released a new video for one of the stand out tracks, “It Don’t Move Me”. This video combines Michael Jackson (there must be a them for videos this month), Flash Dance, and Jay and Silent Bob and rolls into one nifty package. Enjoy!
