Tonight there’s a slew of good shows around the area.  Down in DC Longwave, The Shackeltons, and The Jackfields play DC9 while The Space has a sweet hip hop show with Pharoah Monch.  Also Moby is playing the 9:30 Club.  Over in Virginia Perfect Souvenier, and Played Tomorrow play Galaxy Hut.  Philly also has a ton of shows.  Kungfu Necktie has The Soft Pack (formerly the Muslims) while the M Room has The Skyler King, Bridges and Powerlines, and Curious Buddies.  Height brings his Album release show to The Big Rock Candy Mountain with Nuclear Power Pants and Gavin Riley also performing.  Finally at The Khyber Nickel Eye, Low Vs. Diamond, and Kill You In The Face.  Enjoy!

Tonight in Baltimore there’s a great art opening over at Metro Gallery with some fantastic music to boot.  The Birdwatcher’s Companion, work of Katherine Fahey opens tonight and features performances from Caleb Stine, Andy Stack, Jenn Wasner, James Sarsgard, and Bob Keal.  Down in DC the Black Cat has The Raveonettes and Nickel Eye while the 9:30 Club has Adele.  The Sixth and I Synagogue has a pretty special event – Songs For Presidents -  A Bands for Lands benefit celebrating the Presidential inauguration with performances from the critically acclaimed Of Great and Mortal Men: 43 Songs for 43 U.S. Presidencies featuring Nellie McKay, Jukebox the Ghost, These United States, Laura Burhenn, Tim Fite, Joe Pug, Denison Witmer, Silver Darling, Tom Carter (Charalambides), Hiss Golden Messenger, Reid Maclean, J. Matthew Gerken , Jefferson Pitcher, Christian Kiefer, and many more yet to be announced!  There will also be an opening set by These United States.  Up north in Philly Johnny Brenda’s has a PHEnomenal show with Department Of Eagles, Bear Hands, and Here We Go Magic.  Also in Philly is the Cheers Elephant CD Release show at the North Star Bar.  There will also be performances by The New Connection, Creaky Boards, and Mr. Radar.  Enjoy!
