Miike Snow, the creators of one of this years most ridiculously catchy singles “Animal” (It’s still stuck in my head!!!), have gone out and released a new video for the less catchy track “Black & Blue”. It’s an interesting watch for sure, going over the idea of the aging one man band. Check it (plus a remix):
Peter Bjorn and John are pretty swell, if you haven’t figured that out already. To show more of their swellness they went out and did a bang up remix of the popular Miike Snow song “Animal”. Basically Peter Bjorn and John turned the track into one of their own by lifting the drums and replacing them with their own patented echoey rhythms that bounce just like you expect them to.
I was caught up in the whirlwind that was Miike Snow’s “Animal” – a wonderful pop track with a ton of awesome remixes. Sadly the rest of the album didn’t quite hit it the same way. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t my thing. “Burial” was a pretty decent song on the album and I’m glad they put a music video for it. Directed by Daniel Wirtberg and Jonas Rudström “Burial” ends up being a pretty stunning visual art piece.
Miike Snow seems to be all over the place these days…and so does Passion Pit. So it’s only natural they’d meet up on this nice new remix Miike Snow has done of the track “The Reeling”. I like the direction Miike Snow went with the track – seems a bit bouncier/happier than the original. The changes aren’t severe, but I dig it.
Miike Snow is back but this time it’s not another remix of his “Animal” track (which always has a new one out every week it seems). This time ’round Miike Snow is tackling Peter Bjorn and John’s “It Don’t Move Me” and gets it moving quite a bit. Take a listen:
Miike Snow’s “Animal” is the kind of track that I love to hate, but end up loving it anyway. It gets stuck in my head so easily, it can take over my day in an instant. But there’s no doubt about it – it’s a great track. There have been quite a few sweet remixes of it already. The most recent is pulled off by London’s Punks Jump Up. The remix incorporates their overwhelming bass sound that zips through the heart of the track and lays down hard for all to dance to. Nice. Take a listen:
