DC’s Le Loup started making waves with the release of the Throne Of The Third Heaven Of The Nations’ Millennium General Assembly which crippled bloggers with it’s lengthy title but healed them with the lovely indie rock goodness sounding much like a mash of Polyphonic Spree, Arcade Fire, and MGMT. Well they’re back again with a new album that thankfully has a much shorter name, Family, out on Hardly Art on September 22nd. The first single, “Beach Town”, is an echo laden sun filled beat fest. Check it:

DC’s Le Loup recently stopped by the Daytrotter studios to flex their musical muscles a bit. The four song set included three unreleased tracks that have them drifting towards simpler acoustic arrangements. Relying on plucked guitars, banjos, a slew of rhythms, and vocal harmonies Le Loup brings like few bands can. “Go East” was a stand out track for me – church choral elements with a mountain woods folk halo around them.

Check out the rest of the set here and you can catch them live on March 8th at Johnny Brenda’s in Philly.
