Tonight I am only concerned with the 9:30 Club in DC and Nada Surf, The Jealous Girlfriends, and The Delta Spirit.  If I had to focus on something else though I might have to trek on over to the University Of Maryland, College Park where Lupe Fiasco is playing it cool.  Or perhaps if I was in Philly I’d stomp on over to the Fire and check Illinois, Orbit To Leslie, and Cicadian Rhythms.  But Nada Surf is the main event and that’s all I’m concerned with.

Tonight in Baltimore, Metro Gallery has another fine free show with Dancer vs. Politician while the mazing Diplo comes to Charm City to Sonar with No Age, Abe Vigoda, Boy 8 Bit, and Telepathe.  Down in DC, don’t miss School Of Seven Bells and M83 at the Black Cat or Calexico and The Acorn at the 9:30 Club.  Up in Philly, Hot Guts, Royal Bangs, and Fun Dogs tear down the Khyber while Colour Revolt, Restorations, Padre Pio, and Castle Worries play the M Room.  Also in Philly the First Unitarian Church has a dazzler with Crystal Castles.

New Kanye West “Anyway”

So it’s been a few days since this radio-ripped version of Kanye West’s “Anyway” featuring Kid Cudi has surfaced to the internet.  I must say, though the auto-tune is still in effect, I’m digging this one.  The chorus definitely makes the song and it pushes that “Robocop” song further to the back of my memory.  What do you think?

The Hood Internet – “The Mixtape Volume Three”!!!

A few weeks back we posted on the fabulous mixtape The Hood Internet put together for Tobacco and Aesop Rock mash-ups, but little did we know that they were in the midst of producing The Mix Tape Volume Three.  This thing is mega and might be their best yet.  Chromeo vs. Rihanna?  MF Doom vs. Ladytron?  Hell yes!  Here’s my favorites so far (but the whole thing is worth the download):

New Kanye West “Robocop”

So a new Kanye track has leaked and I must say I’m truly not “feeling” this one. The beat starts off semi-decent, but the monotony makes me yawn about halfway through.  Who knew Kanye had so much to “sing” about?  It ends nice, though.  808s & Heartbreak is definitely shaping up to be one of the more interesting release of the fall, but while I think it will be a great form of artistic expression, I don’t know how his fan base will react.  What do you think?
