We’ve reached midday here and I’m starting to fade fast (that Memory Tapes from the morning only buzzed me for so long). Lucky for me (and you) I’ve been spicin’ up my lunch break with a cover from Grizzly Bear. Thanks to the persisitence of Australia’s Triple J, we now have a beautiful toned down (in the way GB can only do) redux of the classic Hot Chip track “Boy From School”.
Grizzly Bear have unveiled their new video for the track “Two Weeks” off of the highly praised album Veckatimest (out TODAY! go get it here). Directed by Patrick Daughters the video has the band in church close up on their faces as they bulge their eyes, shine their cheeks, and eventually…well watch and find out.
You knew it had to be good, right? Fred Falke with his sultry synth grooves splattering them all over the already amazing “Two Weeks” from Grizzly Bear. Well it is good…and I now know what Grizzly Bear would sound like if they made a huge sound change and decided to become the next A-Ha. Mr. Falke you are amazing.
Is there anything The Hood Internet can’t do? I’m pretty sure there isn’t. Their latest mash fest involves Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks” and a classic Dead Prez track. The result is something I’ll be listeing to for a long time. The tracks blend perfectly. Who knew Grizzly Bear would flow so nicely with hip hop? Apparently The Hood Internet did.

As usual you can find tons more great tracks like this one over at their site.
IGIF recently posted the first remix I’ve heard of Grizzly Bear’s “Two Weeks” off of the highly anticipated Veckatimest. Knoxville’s Tomato splices the wondrous track with some hip hop – mainly Jay-Z. Save this one for the weekend folks!
A short while ago a low quality rip of Grizzly Bear’s upcoming album Veckatimest surfaced on the glorious internet. While crappy in quality, it did give us the first insight into how great this album is going to be. Warp was kind enough recently to put up a higher quality (192 kbps) version of the standout track “Cheerleader”.
They may have been upset a bit that a crappy audio version of their new album, Veckatimest, leaked recently, but Grizzly Bear were generally good sports (which should help them not be called pricks by Wayne Coyne). To take our minds off of the that little debacle, Grizzly Bear has announced a string of North American tour dates in support of the May 26th release of the new one. Check the dates after the jump (note the 9:30 Club show on June 1st and the Trocadero show on June 2nd) and these audio goodies right now:
This year in music seems surreal sometimes. A new Animal Collective and Grizzly Bear? It’s almost too much to handle. Speaking of Grizzly Bear they’ve released the official album artwork (seen above) for their new album Veckatimest, the full tracklist (after the jump), and the first single “While You Wait For The Others” (courtesy of Pitchfork). Enjoy the track….it’s good (like you had any doubts).
