Brazil’s The Twelves are really starting to reach that Treasure Fingers/Fred Falke territory for me where everything they put out just kills. That’s the case for two of their new remixes – Noah and the Whale’s “Blue Skies” and French Horn Rebellion’s “Beaches and Friends”. With these The Twelves have tapped into that period of time when disco was fading into new wave pop. Then they paint that rich sound delicately over the tracks…and wow. Check it:

Brooklyn electronic pop duo French Horn Rebellion are my lock to make this Sunday my fun day before another Manic Monday sets in. Their new EP, Up All Night, bounces and smiles all the way through with catchy rainbow pop verses and synth licks that remind me of a band…hmm…who could it be? (Chromeo? Cut Copy? MGMT? A big mix of all three?). The title track “Up All Night” is my favorite and it receives the remix treatment from Mighty Five, John Bourke, and Database. The Database redux grimes the happiness out a bit and makes for a good thumping energy boost when the EP needs it. If you’re lookin’ for some fun then Robert and David Perlick Molinari’s French Horn Rebellion are providing the party.
