Yesterday on Bobby D’s website he put up a free track off his upcoming album Together Through Life. The track, “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’”, is another gruff blues train of a song. It’s the style he’s been toting for the last few albums and probably the best genre that suits his ragged voice. It’s also a great song. Sure it’s nothing like the classics, but can you really expect them to. The lyrics and swagger are still there.
Tonight in Virginia don’t miss the first of two shows featuring These United States at Iota. This show will also sport two great bands in The Apparitions and The Cotton Jones Basket Ride. If you’re much further north on this particular evening perhaps you might want to check a great show a Philly’s The Fire with Helicopters, Balance & Composure, Silence The Sky, and Chris Batten and the Woods. Or maybe you’d like to see one of the greatest of all time, Bob Dylan (or as I like to call ‘im, Bobby Z), who is playing the Electric Factory. Enjoy!
So many of you might have seen some videos or images posted on the Friday I’m a Remix and Random posts that feature the work of street/graffiti/mural artist Blu. Well he’s been working on a massive animation that takes place on the walls and streets of Buenos Aires for the last few months and I’ve been following his blog to see when it was finally up. Well it’s here. Enjoy. Be inspired. Muto.
