autoKratz’s Animal is certainly flying high on my audio deck these days. Cape Town’s Lapse had already hit us off with solid remixes of Ladyhawke, Empire Of The Sun, AC/DC, Phoenix and more. So when the two collided what would occur? The brash cuts were smoothed and elongated for a completely different sounding long moody dance track. Check it:

I recently picked up London duo autoKratz’s new album Animal and was pleasantly surprised with what I heard. Being completely new to them I really had no preconceived notions of what type of music these two would churn out. What I found is that Animal swings from spiraling electro pop (in the same vein as New Order or Erasure) in “Always More” to hard electro dance floor bangers as in “Gone Gone Gone”. And sometimes both these elements are squished together into one sugar high of a song like “Stay The Same”. David and Russell autoKratz produce some tunes that will surely crash the club, but at the same time they’ve experimented and explored enough on Animal to make it a fresh and exciting experience for just about any music lover. Animal is out now via Kitsune.
