It seems every week or so I get a flurry of remixes in the ole inbox that I never seem to have time to devote a solo post to. So then I thought up this little but – a remix BATTLE. You, the reader, get to decide which one takes the throne as Pasta Primavera’s Remix Battle Champion. That remix will eventually be pitted against another wave of worthy competitors next time round. So just about everyone is talking about the recent trailer for the new Where The wild Things Are film directed by Spike Jonze and out on October 16th. Based on everybody’s favorite children’s book by Maurice Sendak, it looks like Jonze and co-screenplay writer David Eggers did a good job capturing the imagery of the book…hopefully it’s good. It also doesn’t hurt that they picked a great song to put the trailer to (and it looks like Karen O is doing the music for the film along with Carter Burwell!!!). Take a look and listen:
Up to this point in my life, I’ve never had a brush with death. There I was yesterday watching an out of control SUV barreling down on me and my measly Toyota. My life flashed before my eyes as two seconds felt like an eternity. When all was over, nobody was seriously hurt. Lucky. Thankful. It’s moments like these that makes you take a step back. It made me think of my family and how much they really mean to me. They bring joy to me everyday, and for this I am thankful. So what do I come away with? A new found respect for the suddenness of life. Take in each moment and cherish it. They might be cliches, but that’s where I’m at and where I intend to be for a long time. I was always reminded of Bruce Springsteen and his wall of sound production when I listened to Arcade Fire.
