Holy Crap!!! – Abby Mott, Yeveto and Baby Teeth – Live Review 5/2/08

What do you get when you mix hundreds of bikes, a canceled show at the Talking Head, a keg, awesome art, and a gorgeous Friday night in Baltimore? Its simple; You get an amazing night of music at the Velocipede Bike Project! I began my day Friday planning on attending the art opening at the Velocipede Bike Project space, and then heading down to the Talking Head to catch Abby Mott wow everyone with her amazing voice. As luck would have it, the Talking Head had to cancel the show, and after a series of emails and phone calls, Abby Mott and Baby Teeth were added to the bill at Velocipede. Bonus!!

Because of the cancellation of the Talking Head, Abby’s band did not accompany her to the new show, so we got to see a little solo Abby Mott action. And thats a good thing. Abby played some keys, some accoustic and some electric guitar stripped down versions of songs from her lovely 2007 release Hearts a’Flutter. All in attendance had to be impressed by her amazing voice. It is just drizzled in charm and character.

Abby Mott – Wild Desire

Next up was Yeveto, another B-more local act. You know you’re in for a treat when there’s a cello in the mix. Yeveto plays a spastic experimental instrumental medley that pushes and pulsates.
