Feeling The Bond With Brothers And Sisters

No not the TV show.  No, there’s no Calista Flockhart.  No, there’s no Sally Field.  The band Brothers An Sisters from Austin, TX led by real life siblings Will and Lily Courtney have decided to shun everything that seems to be flourishing in today’s indie rock.  You won’t find any synth or post rock emanations from their new album, Fortunately, that came out on July 22nd.  What you will find is music that hovers around Neil Young, Matthew Sweet, and The Decemberists, all playing together in the ultimate hoe-down.  The thing that gets me is that this genre rarely appeals to me.  Maybe it’s the senility setting in (hey I ain’t gettin’ any younger), or maybe it’s the southern charm that just spills out of Will and Lily with ease.  This is summertime music…and fall music…no wait…anytime music.
