Black Kids Are Back & A Contest!!!

Last year Black Kids released a little EP, Wizard Of Ahhs, that scored some serious hype. I wasn’t sold on them at first, but over time they grew on me. Now they have their debut LP, Partie Traumatic, out on July 22nd on Columbia Records. What’s the deal with it, you ask? Well first let me mention that it was produced by Bernard Butler of Suede. Butler’s sound is deeply ingrained in this album letting the Black Kids stream out a record heavy on the Cure/Suede amalgam. It almost brought a tear to my eye. The Black Kids have thoroughly invested themselves in this album (they really play their hearts out on it). Black Kids bring their energy and then some, but great production wasn’t sacrificed to capture it (a feat that’s much harder than it sounds). So if you’re in the mood for jump up and down disco funk indie sing along Suede/Cure jamboree music then pop in that audio jack and enjoy.
