We Were The States

This Tennessee rock group that claims to live off Bukowski, red wine and Italian food plays straight up Kinks kick your ass music.  They put out their debut, Believe The Thieves, in March on Chicken Ranch Records.  Keep an eye on these guys.

The Joy Formidable

This UK three piece plays indie rock with the right amount of melody, catchiness, and energy to make your day just a little bit better.  They’re looking for people to remix them, so hit up their myspace if you’re interested.  Click here to see what others have already done, but nothing beats the original.

Springfactory

Do you ever get tired of the magnificent amount of pop music flowing out of Sweden?  Neither do I.  Springfactory is a Stockhom based quartet that pushes that great power pop button in my head until I’m singing along.  They released their self titled debut on Series Two Records last December.

  • Need more Swedes? We did a 3hr Swedish Music Special on our radio show a few weeks ago – it covers pretty muh every contemporary Swedish Band that we could fit into 3hrs. Lots of names, lots of styles, lots of genres. Pretty excellent show, even if we do say so ourselves.

A podcast of the show can be found here:

    Enjoy.
