The XYZ Affair are a Brooklyn based power pop group that create music that borders on anthemic. On their self released album A Few More Published Studies they blend thick fuzzy guitars and laser like leads over them with choruses of singable…choruses. All that mixed together forms a powerful stew of pop heaven that’s as fun as early Weezer, but complex enough for all those Arcade Fire-ites. My only gripe for the album is the shortness of it, but I guess you could say it just leaves me wanting more.
