I’ve posted on The Sky Drops a few times before, mainly in some concert run down posts (they’ve played around here frequently being so close out of Delaware). The duo of Rob Montejo and Monika Bullette are a shoegaze noise dust off the fuzz crank to eleven kind of pop rock band that could have easily opened for My Bloody Valentine but in reality opened for the Dirty Projectors. That’s the sound. Not overly complicated – thick guitars, thick drums, lush pop melodies – steam-rolled into one dynamo. They have a new debut album, Bourgeois Beat, out now. Get it here.
