New York’s Penguin Prison has been a recent addition to my listening pleasures this week with a solid single in “Animal Animal” (which has one of my favorite new random lyrics in “I wish Mike Tyson was my friend then I would tell him everything”) and “A Funny Thing”. He doesn’t crack the sky open with innovation, but his own blend of electronic pop doesn’t sound like all the rest…so I remember it at the end of the day. To top it all off another electronic pop band The Sound Of Arrows do a bang up remix of “Animal Animal” that could easily fit into a John Hughes soundtrack or two. Check it:

The double A-side single comes out on November 23rd via Neon Gold (who have put out lovely tunes from Passion Pit, Marina and the Diamonds, and Yes Giantess).
