
Brooklyn’s Air Waves, the musical project of Nicole Schneit, has caught me by surprise today…in a good way. Some say it’s simple, but I’ll say it’s pure. Some say it’s folk. Some say it’s punk. I’ll say it’s fulk (a clever combination of both, but really more experimental folk than anything else). Really categorizing Air Waves doesn’t do the music justice. When I listen, it just feels natural…like these songs grew from the earth beneath the cracked concrete and implanted themselves into Schneit’s soul. Air Waves debut self released EP is out now and you can pick it up at Insound. Here’s a few favorites:
