This past summer Heartbreakbeat Records released a stunning split family affair EP featuring Baltimore/Houston artist Jana Hunter and her brother John Hunter’s band Inoculist. Jana Hunter has long been in my ears, but I had yet to hear her bro’s band and this split has me focused and ready for more. Inoculist was started as Hunter’s home recording but soon spun into a larger affair. It’s now a three piece based in Brooklyn featuring Ashln Davis on keyboards/vocals and Ethan Schmid on drums. They play soft and moody sheets-of-rain type music. Their track “Provenance” has been the perfect compliment for this streak of wet grey days we’ve been having lately.
