Okay. You’re thinkin’ I’m a bit late on this one…yes? Well that’s true, but the real truth is I’ve been listening to Washed Out’s Life Of Leisure EP for a while now…but couldn’t quite put together coherent and successive words to describe this music traveling through my ears. Sometimes extraordinary music has that effect on me. Ernest Greene aka Washed Out sparks vivid synth pop…sort of. With all the samples, melodies, and electronic textures, you’d think it’d sound urban or somethin’, but Washed Out drums up more feelings of green countrysides and sunflowers for me. It’s like…umm (I told you it was hard to put words to this music)…like a bright garden growing on a dark/tense city sidewalk. That’s the feel…and it’s phenomenal. The Life Of Leisure EP is out now (via Mexican Summer) as is the High Times EP (via Mirror Universe) though the latter is only available on a limited release cassette (which I would love to have if anyone would like to hook me up).

completely agree with you. I’ve been listening constantly, and although blogs keep trying to describe the music, the effect seems individualized.. Something of nostalgia mixed with a brilliant summer of ‘09, cotton candy, and renovating a house.
I don’t really understand any of it, i just really like it.
RE: the cassette. You want a physical copy of it?
