Portland’s AU have just released a new EP, Versions, via Aagoo. Many may look at the track list and realize only one of the tracks are new (“Ida Walked Away”)…and you’re right, but don’t let that sway you from listening. These are completely re-imagined versions of past songs, with a focus on creating their larger than life sound with the minimal amount of players – much akin to AU’s dynamic live set. Luke Wyland and Dana Valatka seemingly drain every ounce of emotion and energy from their bodies and channel into these wondrous experimental rock performances. Definitely a good listen if you have a chance.
