Montreal DJ/producer CFCF (aka Michael Silver) has repeatedly won me over with his electronic pop remixes of HEALTH, Sally Shapiro, The Presets, and Woodhands. Now he sets his sights on an album of his own entitled Continent which is due out on October 27th via Paper Bag Records. Our first taste comes with “Monolith”. As the name suggests, this song is big clocking in at 7 minutes and change. CFCF ditches the catchy melodies and such, that littered his remixes, for an exploration of build ups, caving ins, and wide expanses of electronic tones and vibrations.
