James Rutledge, renown DJ/electronic artist, flexes his creative muscle with Vowels, a new project of his featuring a collaboration with drummer Chris Walmsley. Anyone expecting poppy melodic electro-dance music can quickly CAN IT. The Pattern Prism, Vowels’ first album out via LOAF Records on September 22nd, plunges into Rutledge’s love of Krautrock. For me it sounds like Medeski Martin and Wood assaulting DJ Shadow who’s covering Dan Deacon. Experimental….definitely. Sounds to travel far away to….for sure. Enjoy the first single “ONUP!”.
