The Run Down – July 24, 2009

half japanese poster

Tonight in Baltimore there’s quite a few great shows to suit any mood you’re in for music.  The Ottobar has a can’t miss ROCK show with Half Japanese, Double Dagger, Baby Venom, and Yukon.  Meanwhile the Talking Head has another with Vinny Vegas, Solar Powered Sun Destroyer, Caverns, and Hammer No More The Fingers.  Or scale it way back and head down to the 8×10 to catch some country/alt/folk music with June Star, The Herd Of Main Street and Van Meter.  Head a tad north to Aberdeen and Ripken Stadium and you could catch three legends of music when John Mellencamp, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson perform.  Shoot down I95 to DC to catch Method Man, Redman, and Ghostface at the 9:30 Club or swing over to Comet Ping Pong for Carol Bui Buterlies, and Impossible Hair.  Also in DC the DC Mini Gallery (CORRECTION – the show is now at KANSAS HOUSE) has Greenland, Mass Shivers, Hello Babies, The Alphabet, and Wild Fiction.  Across the way in Arlington, Virginia Iota has Hoots and Hellmouth and Katie Herzig (and really good food and beer).  Head back up I95 to Philadelphia and you’re in for a treat as well with Caroline Weeks and Lewis and Clarke performing at the First Unitarian Church while The Seedy Seeds, Doctor Scientist, and Man Like Machines power through The Khyber.  Finally don’t miss out on the Photon Band who performs at Johnny Brenda’s with the Capitol Years and Robes.  Enjoy!
