Remember when Arctic Monkeys first blew up. That energy they had was unreal (as was the hype). Do you think they’ll ever have that again? My guess would be no, but their new track “Crying Lightning” has me thinking otherwise. It doesn’t have that face pace frenzied current that helped build their success, but the lyrics are there and strong….and the structure…almost a vaudeville-like sound…is great as it gains momentum throughout the track (it really picks up midway). Humbug, their new album, comes out on August 25th via Domino.
