Jonathan Pierce from the band Elkland has taken a break from major label duties (Columbia) with that band to work with a new group, The Drums, which also features Jacob Graham of Horse Shoes. They remind of The Tough Alliance only a bit more sparse (which makes sense because they consider them a primary influence). The Drums will be releasing their Summertime EP on August 4th followed by a full length. They’ve sent out two free tracks that won’t be on either release, but were definitely good enough to keep me interested. Take a listen:
