All you need to rock is a purpose. Ian Anderson and One For The Team prove this on their new EP, Build A Garden (out on Afternoon Records). Sharp harmonies (Anderson’s voice is one of those that grabs you immediately – reminds me of Michael Nau of Page France/Cotton Jones), gruff acoustic guitars, and an explosion of pop energy are all One For The Team need to fuel their striking EP that left me dumb on first listen. Each song packs a punch, yet most are minimally arranged with mainly just guitars though an occasionally drum can be heard. Yet it feels just as rockin’ as some bigger bands do. That’s a feat that gets props from me as well as two thumbs up for just great all around songs.
