Deerhoof covering The Knife covering Fleetwood Mac. That’s as close as I can get to describing Helsinki/Paris band The Dø’s music. It’s also a big compliment to The Dø (pronounced ‘do’ as in a deer, a female deer) since those are three of my favorite bands. Their album A Mouthful jumps all over the place – from raucous experimental to slow jams to folk pop swoons to world beat killers to songs that combine it all together into one. My only gripe with it is that the dramatic style changes seriously affect the flow of the album in some areas. Never the less, people should LOOK OUT FOR THIS BAND. Seriously. No joke. The Dø.
