Remix: Peter Dragontail Takes on The Beach Boys’ “Caroline, No”

When I first received Philadelphia’s Peter Dragontail’s remix of the classic Beach Boys track “Caroline, No” I was extremely skeptical.  The remixes of classics have a tendency of falling short.  It starts off with a bongo laden instrumental minute or so until Wilson’s vocals come in.  That’s where it gets interesting.  It really sounds like a Hot Chip song almost which is totally cool.  Then there’s some Night Rider bass vibes that creep in somewhere and that’s cool too.  It builds and flows as remixes often do with blips and phases streaming in from all angles until fading into that initial bongo beat again.  Pretty sweet Peter.
