Montreal’s Bell Orchestre came onto the major indie scene with their 2005 debut Recording A Tape The Colour Of Light toting a vibrant instrumental sound that served as the soundtrack of our bustling lives. They recently signed to Arts & Crafts and are about to release their sophomore album As Seen Through Windows. Bell Orchestre picks up right where they left off with Recording A Tape. They continue to put together complex arrangements of classical elements bonded with modern mood and grit. Bell Orchestre always focuses on the whole sound and the abstract imagery it evokes rather than riffs, catchy melodies, or any pop elements that seem to flow through most modern music. My current favorite track off of As Seen Through Windows is the rhythmic “Bucephalus Bouncing Ball”, check it then make sure you buy the album on March 10th.

This is a great cover of an Aphex Twin tune.
