Moderat (Modeselektor + Apparat) Reunites For Debut Album In April

moderat

Moderat was formed way back in 2002 by Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary (Modeselektor) and Sascha Ring (Apparat) and recorded an EP Auf Kosten der Gesundheit on the BPitch Control label.  Successful solo careers then split the group apart and left many to wonder if anything would become of Moderat.  Well that question has been answered because they’re back together and have their debut self titled album due out in April.  The album was recorded at Berlin Hansa Studios, where David Bowie recorded Heroes.  They chose this place to try to record this album in a complete analog format.  Though it’s mainly instrumental there are some guest vocals by Eased, Paul St. Hillaire, the rapper Busdriver, and Apparat himself Sascha Ring.  Should be a good one.  We’ll keep you on the up and up of this, but for now here’s some remixes that you may remember.

mp3: Thom Yorke – Skip Divided (Modeselektor Remix)

mp3: Boys Noize – Shine Shine (Apparat Remix)
