So I’m a bit slow getting to it, but at the end of January Lykke Li released a new video for the track “Tonight” off of Youth Novels. The vid is fairly simple, her singing with in black and white and nothing else (a bit like Sinead), but the cool part is that this is a new version recorded in one take just for the video. Check it out:
Pretty amazing version right? Not sure which I like better, the original or this one. Both beautiful tracks but I really ate up the Twin Peaks-esque bass that flows all over the new version. Thanks to IGIF we can compare the two right now:

Which one?

I definitely love the new version. She’s amazing. Love the version of “Dance Dance Dance” she did with Bon Iver.

Samtaters’s last blog post..samtaters: @stevekruskamp Don’t worry, coke wasn’t involved! What is so craptacular about today?!
Lykke Li has done a ton of live videos, like the ones she did with El Perro Del Mar for La Blogotheque and there’s one of her doing “I’m Good, I’m Gone,” in a bathroom somewhere in Sweden that’s worth checking out as well.
Lykke is going to also be on the new Josh Schwartz/ Alex Patsavas project Rockville, CA (http://www.rockvilleca.com/), which will have two live performances from her, which should be interesting to see!
I liked the new version better. Fresh and simple.
